On most of our trips we will usually reserve one of the County beach firepits. Everyone enjoys hanging out at the beach during the early evening as it starts to get cooler. We’ll cook hotdogs, swim, and do all the normal beach activities but its always a little more relaxed after the sun sets with a fire going.
You can reserve a fire pit at the Hancock County building at 854 US-90 B, Bay St Louis, MS 39520. Its a large building but if you enter through the doors on the northeast corner the staff can help you out. There is a $150 deposit for the reservation but if you leave the area clean you will get a full refund sent back to you in about 7-10 days.
Sometimes there will be leftover firewood in the back yard of the house that you are free to use. If you need firewood we recommend calling Walter Kulak at 228-304-1406. He is located about a 10 minute drive from the house and should have enough firewood for your needs at fair prices. Contacting him a few days prior to your reservation is always a good idea in case he is busy.
